Today we know that selenium has a wide range of important functions in nature, and to celebrate 200 Years of Selenium Research an international selenium conference was held at Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm on August 13-17, 2017. The conference covered all fields of current selenium research, with a special focus on biology, medicine, biomedicine and the environment. The conference was officially composed of two serial symposia; for the first time held in parallel at the same site and having overlapping plenary sessions, poster sessions and social events. The two symposia were The 11th International Symposium on Selenium in Biology and Medicine and The 5th International Conference on Selenium in the Environment and Human Health.
The conference attracted 330 delegates from 41 countries. Please find the full program, abstract book and further information about the conference on this website.
We wish to thank all delegates and contributors that helped to make Se2017 a vibrant and successful meeting!
